Coaching
At Leadership Essentials we specialise in working with leaders in educational settings to enable them to achieve remarkable results in their teaching and learning environment.
We acknowledge that Principals play a highly influential role in leading the leaders of our next generation, thus we aim to increase their capacity for personal reflection, professional initiative and compassionate interaction with colleagues.
Professional coaching is an effective way of increasing leadership capacity and enhancing existing skills and strengths in the workplace.
What is coaching in the workplace?
Coaching in the workplace is a coach/client interaction which enables the clients to see their own strengths and those of their team members and to find workable solutions to leadership and team challenges. The coach listens attentively and respectfully to the client, asking questions, exploring options and reflecting back insights which lead to the setting of goals and action plans.
Coaching is about helping the client:
- Identify their needs and the needs of their organisation
- Reflect deeply on their own beliefs and behaviours
- Set realistic goals and devise a plan of action
- Commit to making changes according to the action plan
How does coaching work?
Our coaching programs are arranged to negotiate goals, build positive action plans and achieve designated outcomes. We use sound coaching models, such as the GROW model or the 5-S model, and a variety of coaching strategies to assist the client in setting a clear direction for a positive future.
Individual coaching sessions with Leadership Essentials are usually conducted face-to-face, although phone and email contact is an alternative.
The coaching agreement normally covers a period of three to nine months with six to ten sessions of about one hour. However, the dates, times and schedule for the coaching are all open for discussion in the drawing up of the agreement.
Coaching is also available for Leadership Teams where group goals are established and the coach meets with the members as a group (and individually if required.)
The coach is bound by the International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics.
It costs you nothing to find out more about how coaching might
work for you.
